Alaska: A lottery with a $500,000 jackpot raising money to support victims of sexual abuse has been won by 53-year-old Alec Ahsoak, a sex offender convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in 1993 and 2000.

According to lottery organisers Ahsoak told them that he planned to buy a house and give some to charity and some to God. Supporters of the lottery hope that the winner’s past will not compromise the fund raiser.
