Thousands of Tubes of Fake Colgate Recalled

UK retail giants Sainsbury’s and Boots have announced a massive recall of fake Colgate toothpaste. The two stores have contacted customers personally to let them know, and posted notices in all storefront windows.

The toothpaste was sold between the 28th of November and the 5th of December. Though Sainsbury’s says there is no harm in the toothpaste, fake Colgate sold in the US last year was contaminated with a chemical found in antifreeze.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We believed the supplier we bought the toothpaste from was reputable, and we are carrying out a full investigation into how this occurred so that we can prevent it from happening again.”
